Giants 6, Brewers 2
This is the template the Giants must follow to win without Bonds, maybe even with him. Get a solid starting performance, zeroes from the bullpen and jump on every opposition mistake.
Matheny is obviously going to be the Giants' guy behind the plate until he goes 0-for-3000 or commits a felony, but I wonder what the bar is set at for Torrealba. He had a great day at the plate, and he's an asset defensively. And Felipe likes to pinch-run him. Sabean's down on him for his bat, and that's supposedly why he's not a starter. Days like this show he's got potential, which is something you can't say about Matheny. Not starting an argument here, just saying.
You may not be impressed with his pitching, but Capuano has a great move to first. He picked Tomko off when he was about three steps off the bag. Reminds me a bit of Ricky Horton, if you go back that far.
Hey, Moises got a hit. Wasn't impressive, but it was still a hit.
Looks like Benitez has gotten back in the groove, too.
I didn't see the end of yesterday's game, but I was impressed by Benitez's line score. I was also impressed that Felipe Alou brought him in with one out in the 8th inning. I like to see that kind of unconventional thinking in a manager. Using the best guy for a situation, regardless of the inning, is rare among baseball managers these days.

Benitez had the stuff to go with the line score. His fastball was 95-96 and that splitter/slider thing was nasty.
