At some point, Barry Bonds is going to crack. I know I am. No one on? Go to first, Barry. And you stay there unless you steal second yourself.
Meanwhile, the key hit of the game (in the 12th) is by Cesar Izturis. How embarassing.
You don't see a lot of back-to-back triples, especially when the first one is from the catcher. Then again, I haven't seen a lot of Brett Tomko on the mound. We may be seeing a lot of multiple-hit innings. The Giants did get off cheap with one run scored, thanks to Encarnacion inexplicably breaking slowly for home on a grounder to third. In one replay, you could see Encarnacion watch the entire play unfold right in front of him, but like a zombie he took a few lurching steps toward the plate before his brain ordered his feet to stop. Too late. It was refreshing to see another team make a stupid play for a change.
I'd really like to stop talking about Neifi Perez, but his wretched excuse for a bat keeps popping up in crucial situations. If there's one thing this guy should be able to do is bunt, and he couldn't manage that in the seventh, with runners on first and second with no one out. He finally wound up hitting a tapper to the mound, and the Dodgers got a force at third. I guess it doesn't really matter, as the Giants are determined to ground into double plays whenever possible. Durham did the honors here.
